65m Aquarius Wins at the World Superyacht Awards

    Instagram

How do you improve on a yacht the owners already considered “nearly perfect”?

Royal Huisman has now revealed the full story of the new 65m Aquarius.

For Mark, the project was a rare opportunity to design for the same owners for a second time, building on six years of experience aboard the first Aquarius and a very clear understanding of what they wanted to retain, refine and develop.

The interior reinterprets the character of the original for a larger yacht, with Mark describing the result as “light classic contemporary” with hand-painted finishes, swietenia cabinetry, crisp joinery and classic proportions.

Just as importantly, it brought much of the original team back together - Royal Huisman, Dykstra Naval Architects, Godfrey Cray and Captain James Turner.

A second yacht shaped by a shared understanding of the owners, years of experience and close collaboration.

Wonderful to see the full story of Aquarius now being shared by @royalhuisman
